Home Sales Spiked Across the Sacramento Region this Summer

For the first time since 2005, the four-county Sacramento region saw the highest number of home sales this summer. With 17,500 homes sold in 2005, this summer was the closest in comparison with 12,000 new and existing homes sold. Just in August, the Sacramento County had 270 new homes sales, which was a 37 percent jump from last August. Similarly, the Sacramento County’s median price for resale on single-family homes was up almost 7 percent from last year, reaching $332,250. In addition, out of the four-county Sacramento region, El Dorado County had the highest price for new homes this summer; at a median sales price of $483,000, that is a 16 percent jump from last year.
